Welcome to the IICIS Proceedings Website

Since its inception in 2018, the International Indonesia Conference on Interdisciplinary Studies (IICIS) has served as a dynamic academic platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to exchange ideas and present research addressing pressing regional and global challenges. Organized annually by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Lampung, Indonesia, IICIS has grown steadily, both in participation and academic reach. Over the past editions, the conference has welcomed more than 600 participants and published over 350 peer-reviewed papers from contributors representing over 40 institutions across Southeast Asia and beyond.

Now in 2025, IICIS continues to foster interdisciplinary dialogue across various fields. We proudly launch the first independently managed volume of the Poceedings of IICIS, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to advancing scholarly communication. This new initiative reflects our dedication to enhancing academic visibility, while maintaining the integrity and quality of the peer-review process. We hope this inaugural independent volume will be the beginning of a sustainable tradition, allowing IICIS to continue growing as a reputable academic outlet for years to come.

We sincerely thank all authors, reviewers, and supporters who have contributed to this endeavor. We look forward to your continued engagement and to welcoming you to the 5th IICIS, held on June 12–13, 2025, under the theme: “Food Security and Strengthening Human Resources.”

For the first time in its history, the IICIS Proceedings Volume 1 (2025) is proudly published independently by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Lampung (FISIP Unila). This inaugural volume marks a significant milestone in the faculty’s commitment to advancing international academic discourse and institutional publishing autonomy. As part of the 5th IICIS Conference series, held on June 12–13, 2025, this proceeding compiles a wide array of scholarly contributions encompassing diverse topics, critical issues, interdisciplinary approaches, and methodological innovations.

Now entering its fifth edition, the 5th IICIS (2025) was convened under the central theme: “Food Security and Strengthening Human Resources.” This year’s conference addressed two pressing global challenges: the urgency of building sustainable food systems, and the importance of cultivating resilient and capable human capital. It examined the intersections of environmental change, social inequality, and digital transformation—exploring how these dynamics shape the future of food resilience and workforce readiness.

The 2025 IICIS proceeding continues the tradition of publishing peer-reviewed academic work, while expanding its scholarly reach through this independently managed publication. We hope this volume will serve not only as an enduring record of this year’s intellectual exchange but also as a foundation for future academic collaboration and policy impact across disciplines.
